Dear Artur Davis,
You should be ashamed of yourself. Hell, I’m ashamed for you.
Alabama, the “birthplace of civil rights”, has shown that even our Democrats can be ridiculously closed minded. How does it feel Mr. Davis? How does it feel knowing that history will look on you and see the only member of the Congressional Black Caucus to vote anti-gay. You want to be Governor some day, i know. But do you honestly think you deserve it now?
Any one who would deny someone employment based on their sexual orientation (Or even perceived or real gender identity) doesn’t deserve to be hired themselves. The GLBT people in your state are flexing our voting muscle. Are you paying attention?
In the past 2 years we’ve elected 2 openly gay people to public office. We’ve tasted victory, and we want more. Don’t get too comfortable in your chair, Mr. Davis. If you continue on your current path, you won’t be there next term.
Sincerely,
Zach C Byrnes
