Well, folks, hard to believe that a week has passed since my last post! The vids got some great feedback and were actually seen by some of the featured individuals! Very exciting stuff, indeed. This week, I bring you some feel-good music videos rooted in Gaydom. Think you may know what some are? Check ‘em out! And be sure to leave a comment or email me with some of YOUR favorite vids – maybe we’ll feature those!
Well, the season is over and now we gLeeks are forced to wait until April 2010 until we can get new episodes of what I consider to be one of the best new shows this Fall (aside from Modern Family). The show includes all walks of life and orientations and it appeals to as diverse a group of people is made up in the cast. This video is their performance at the much-anticipated Sectionals and despite set-backs and monumental hurdles to overcome, the kids did GREAT! In a side note, congrats to Glee for their FOUR Golden Globe noms! Best Featured Actress & Actor in Musical or Comedy – Lea Michele & Matthew Morrison, Best Supporting Actress in Musical or Comedy – Jane Lynch, Best Show Musical or Comedy!!!

And, for those of who who remember that flashy little number Quinn, Santana, and Brittany did for “Say A Little Prayer,” a bonus BG5 vid this week is the The Full Silkwood (aka Josh Cheon, Jason Whipple, and Mark Louque) lip-syncing the song-and-dance.

I can’t seem to get away from Our Lady and Saviour, Miss Gaga. This is an a capella group from California performing a rather entertaining version of “Pokerface,” complete with lots of Gaga-esque choreography and teenaged boys having a blast. Also interesting is that in a month’s time, this video has been viewed almost 100K times! That kind of stuff just floors me.

Again, I must begin by stating there is no speculation as to the sexual orientation of Mr. Torrence. But he did pick a current “gay anthem” and put his own spin on it. I really enjoy watching Stephen’s videos; he’s got a nice flair when he’s signing and he always seems to be enjoying himself.

I intend to drop a bomb on my dear old Dad and Mom, For this year without a doubt, it’s the Christmas I – come – out! So begins the wonderful choral version of coming out to your family at the holidays. I figured this would be a rather appropriate video as the holiday season is in full swing! I’m surprised I’ve never seen this video before – it was recorded in 2006. It can be a little hard to decipher what they’re saying at times because of the massive echo, but take your time and really enjoy this video – it’s great! And make sure you share it with all your friends. . .it’s worth the watch. (Not to mention, London has some very handsome men in their chorus!)

You wanna know why I did it?! Because I was born too soon and started too late! That’s why! The incomparable Miss LuPone belts away in the role that won her her second (only second?!) Tony Award. While nothing is particularly “gay” about this video, it is a gay icon, Patti LuPone, and a gay-loved musical. And, well, it is a musical.

Your Big Gay 5 for this week. Got a video you want to share? Email me! Or leave it in the comments section. I’d love your suggestions! And like before, I will leave you with a very silly musical video from the oh-so-very cute Davey Wavey (who never wears a shirt – and we’re not complaining) singing his song, “Penises Are Beautiful.” While at times he’s not on the beat and the lyrics are incredibly elementary, it’s a fun video and an entertaining minute-twenty.
So there you have it!
