We headed out to Peachtree Street in Atlanta to watch the Atlanta pride parade. I was able to snap a bunch of pictures and even some video. Here are some of the pictures with my comments:
The parade started with the traditional Dykes on Bikes contingent
These were the cutest lesbians. Whenever the parade stopped, they would run around their bike and switch places.
Then came the LGBT Veterans colorguard.
I’m not sure if this guy was officially with the parade, but he was rollerskating down the road in a leotard with a rainbow flag as a cape. People cheered him whenever he zoomed by. Hey, it’s pride!
Then came the obligatory giant rainbow flag.
Delta Airlines had a group in the parade and their cars had wings! It was totes cute:-)
Southern Voice and David Magazine had some superheroes on their truck.
Patrons of the Atlanta Eagle, which was raided by Atlanta Police in September, had a protest float demanding answers from the city government about the raid.
then there was Noah’s Big Gay Ark.
These were the “Diggin’ Dykes of Decatur”. They were pushing little bubble lawnmowers. I want to join their group tomorrow.
Let us, on this gay high holy day, not forget the hot leather daddy.
We saw this group and I’m not sure what their organization does.. but I want to join!
This was one of the “broke straight boys”. He didn’t look that broke and he certainly wasn’t straight. He handed me a hat right after I snapped this picture.
Random hot guy in the back of a truck.
This is Mary Norwood. She’s running for mayor in Atlanta. If I lived here, she would have my vote. For some reason, the parade just stopped for about 10 minutes. She got out of her car and started talking to us about what she wanted to do for the city. She thanked us all for attending the parade and even posed for some pictures.
Love the oompa loompa costume!
And near the end of the parade was this sexy doctor, who can take my temperature any time!
