You know he won’t serve a day. Disgusting.
That’s what I think too. He lucked out with the timing of the sentencing — the story has been relegated to the back burner behind the Arizona shootings and the winter storms. I’m afraid no one will notice when he slips through the cracks — or bars.
I know I read somewhere that Gov. Goodhair (we miss you, Ann Richards) can’t pardon him, or at least would have a lot of difficulty doing so. Texas weakened the governor’s power to pardon after some scandal or other, and for Delay’s offense, a parole board must agree unanimously, or something.
That’s good to know. Maybe he’ll go to the Big House after all.
Being from DeLay’s former district, I have to say that I will be delighted but surprised if he actually goes to jail. We have DeLay to thank for K Street and the lobbyist strong hold on our government. I think he deserves life for what he has done to our country. A little man, with a little mind, with a huge ego and an obvious Napoleon complex.
