There is so much wrong with this, i dont even know where to start.
Even if the label IS pornographic (which it really isn’t) only people over the age of 21 would be able to get a close look at it, right?
Also it’s from the 19th century.. are we somehow MORE puritanical that people were 100 years ago?

    Apparently we are. :)

This is the same mentality that led to Alabama’s ban on the sale of, ahem, marital aids and Hoover’s ongoing efforts to get rid of the “Love Stuff” store. And to think 19th century physicians used those “marital aids” to treat “hysteria”.

  3. I dunno about MORE puritanical… The Puritans allowed abortions– damn liberals.

The cartoon does remind me of a joke my former pastor once told us in the church office… What’s the difference between Baptists and Methodists? A Methodist will talk to you in line at the liquor store.

Well now, my neighbor told me the paper had come out against the ABC and for the nekkid wine. I could hardly believe it, but it’s true – read it for yourselves.

I love that old joke, almod.

Well, it seems NPR has now picked up the story. How embarrassing! The feed was on my facebook page.
