There’s another batch of those “teabagging,” excuse me, I mean “tea parties” planned for the 4th. The one down here is going to be at the historic Magee farm, the site, I have only recently learned, where the terms of one of the Confederate surrenders were hammered out, right there in the parlor! (with the sliding doors shut). From the al.com article: “The Eight Mile tea party will feature speeches from state Sen. Rusty Glover, R-Semmes, and others, according to Ken McGhee, curator of the Historic Magee Farm. There will also be barbecue, live bands and a dunking booth, McGhee said.”
I don’t pretend to give anybody campaign advice, but if I were planning to run against Rusty Glover, I’d try to have somebody at this event with a camera. I’m betting there are going to be at least as many Confederate battle flags waving as US ones. Might make for a good photo op, a little something to hang onto should Mr. Glover ever aspire to represent a wider group than District 34.
Sadly, there is probably a demographic that would be more likely to support Mr. Glover should such videos surface. A brief glance into the comments section at al.com (here’s a good example) yields numerous representatives of that demographic.
I’m sure it’s safe to assume that you and your family won’t be teabagging tomorrow.
Oh for heaven’s sake, don’t call it “teabagging” because that makes you “immoral” just for knowing what the word means or making fun of it. And how dare you make fun of it.
Hee hee hee. Teabagging.
I loved explaining that to my whitebread Republican, but willing to listen to reasonable opposing views, neighbors. “Oooh, Jane, please don’t use that word, honey. Don’t you know what it means?” She didn’t. So of course I told her, in dry, clinical terms. I’m their connection to the wild side – which is fricking pitiful.

But Mom, they started it!
Seems like I’ve been seeing sign around here in North Shelby County for a tea party/fireworks at the Verizon stadium (aka Oak Mtn. Amphitheatre) for a week or so…
Kiki, you should go! You could give us an undercover eyewitness report. Of course, you probably have at least a million better things to do.
