Day Without a Gay

Today is Day Without a Gay, organized by Join the Impact. Clearly, I should have posted this sooner, but, well, see the post below, blah blah busycakes.

I know many people don’t have the option of skipping out on work today (I don’t — haven’t been here long enough to have vacation days), but we can avoid shopping. If you identify as LGBTQI or an ally (hand raised here), please do what you can to stay away from the stores and restaurants today. It’s time for a wake-up call to the people who think they can live without us.

Coming up: Light Up the Night for Equality December 20. Organizers are needed — check out your city/state and see what you can do.

  1. It really is about time that the community stands up and says “WE COUNT!”

  2. Del says:

I stayed home from the Winn-Dixie, if that counts. We had shepherd’s pie made from potatoes that had started to sprout, a little bit of ground chuck, and pork chops I chopped in the food processor. As they used to say on Hee Haw, “Yum, yum.”
