informal poll

Okay, what do y’all think? If you carve your pumpkin in the image of Sarah Palin, is that because you support the Republican ticket and its sassy lassie, or because you think she is the single scariest image imaginable?

The husband has been doing those wonderful elaborate pumpkins ever since we got our very first pumpkin-carving kit, way back during the Clinton administration. We had a Bush pumpkin one year (it was absolutely gorgeous) so obviously I support the “look kids, he’s really scary!” view, but I want to know what others think.

We have a new kit this year – the tiny saws were getting dull, and the handles of a couple of them broke. And I just picked up two pumpkins at the Winn-Dixie. So we can do an entire ticket, if I can talk him into it. It takes hours. My job is to scoop out the seeds and prepare the canvas – he is the artist. It helps if there is a football game on the TV during carving time.
