My daughter and I went - I'm not much on parades but wanted to show my support. Lots of people and very well behaved. Some protesters were there - I heard it was the first time the event had protesters and I would attribute that to LaLa the ignorant. I read in the paper this a.m. that they were from some church in Georgia, so at least it wasn't our local people. Inexplicably, one of the really big signs was about liquor being bad.

I did see one young man, hopped up on youthful energy and probably demon rum, who grabbed a protester's sign and tore it up. That was stupid but the protester, fortunately, let it ride.

All in all it seemed like a fun event - lots of different people and mardi gras beads flying.
