More Garden Blogging
Lots going on in the garden right now. The tomato plants are busy making babies. I saw my first bell pepper sprout on Mother’s Day, which seemed rather fitting. Now we have two.

I keep adding to the herb garden; now we have parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme (the sage is in the bed with the tomatoes). Plus basil, oregano, stevia, catnip, pineapple sage, chocolate mint, pineapple mint, spearmint, and lemon balm.
On Saturday, we replaced the hibiscus that got zapped in the winter freeze. The new one is putting on quite a show.
Last week I went to the hydrangea sale at Aldridge Gardens and went a little nuts with the lace caps. Finally got them planted on Sunday.
This Oakleaf Hydrangea started out as a volunteer in my parents’ yard. It’s huge now.
One last thing — I found these when I cleaned out the back flower bed. They’re in need of a new home. Perhaps Jennifer will take care of them for me? We know how much she loves squirrels.

Thank you very much. This is the kind of e-mail that I like best. The flowers and tomatoes are really pretty.
Will read more later. My nursing home friend has just called and told me that her husband had been taken to the hospital. She want me to take her to see about him.

One of my Patio tomatoes in going red! Hard as a rock, but blushing. Can tomatoes sandwiches be too far off?
Have you tried any of the yellows. I have two varieties in the ground this year with promises to exchange yellow tomatoes for home made salsa with a friend of mine. It should make some very pretty salsa.
Love your lace top hydrangeas. I have plenty of Oak leaf, thanks to Mama Nature but I think I may go buy lace tops. Pretty, pretty, pretty.

Oh, and I love the way oak leafs just make new oak leafs. I’ve seriously considered keeping a pot and a shovel in my car so I can stop by the side of the road and dig them out of the woods.
