The California Supreme Court has overturned the state’s ban on gay marriage. I’m grinning so much I can barely type! This is a huge win, and I know my brother is smiling today.

It is about time this world is starting to realize we deserve the same rights as heterosexual couples do!
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has twice vetoed legislation that would’ve granted marriage rights to same-sex couples, said in a news release that he respected the court’s decision and “will not support an amendment to the constitution that would overturn this state Supreme Court ruling.”

I’m just speculating, but I think it’s a twofer — the court gave him the result he actually wanted and the political cover to get it without having to take a public stand.
