Karl Rove has again declined to testify before Congress regarding the Siegelman case. First he offered to answer questions in private without a transcript. Now he says he’ll answer questions in writing. The House Judiciary Committee had given him till today to comply voluntarily and has threatened to issue a subpoena if he does not. We’ll see if the leadership follows through.

Probably of his aversion to prison in which his enevitable perjury could result.
He’s too important to obey the law–as simple as that. How dare ANYONE hold him accountable–off with their heads!
Yeah, I thought he was just a private citizen now. But a real private citizen who refused to testify before Congress would have been slapped with a subpoena already — and hauled off to jail if said citizen didn’t comply. Double standard, anyone?
