A Slate commenter, I think it was, was rebutting the argument that the fundamentalists aren't going to turn out in droves to vote for McCain just to see their man as VP---that you vote for the president, not the vice-president. This commenter said something like, "well, these are people who believe in divine intervention in our lives, so the prospect of their man being 'one heartbeat away' might take on special meaning." Well, my gut is in knots about it. What a scary and evil person--the things she says are so demeaning and not to mention very high school--maybe she really just has a maturity problem. I mean, a lack of it. There is no accounting for her hateful rhetoric and personal attacks. She seems bound and determined to just be ugly. I am embarrased for the people she claims to represent in this country.
