Bush Begs Saudis for Oil

This is pathetic.

“I will say to him that, ‘If it’s possible, your majesty, consider what high prices is doing to one of your largest customers,’” Bush said.

Well, isn’t that nice? Sucking up to the country that produced 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers. the royal family that expects us to fight its battles in the region, the light of democracy in the Middle East (that last one is snark). This after the Saudi oil minister smacked him down.

Earlier Tuesday, Bush had made his case for having OPEC, and particularly American ally Saudi Arabia, increase oil production as the price of gas hovers around $3 a gallon.

The Saudi oil minister, however, waited only a short time before announcing that oil prices would remain tied to market forces — a direct slap at Bush.
