In passing

I went to Mobile’s Bayfest this weekend for the first time.  Greasy midway food, good music ruined by overamplification, and lots of people-watching. Mostly folks showing off bodies that would be better off left unshown, plus a couple of disturbing T-shirts. This one  and this one. (nsfw) Both were new to me—guess I just don’t get out enough.

I’m not one a them feminazis, but I was really bothered by the shirts, particularly the “single mom” one.  Both of these guys looked like the only way they could get lucky was with a blind hooker who’d take a bad check, but I can’t imagine the T-shirts are going to improve their odds.

    Those are pretty awful.

I bet those boys thought they were TEH Hawt!, too. :)

Geez! That first shirt link needs a “not worksafe” warning or something. I was in an internet cafe and could just imagine what the folks at the next table were thinking. What kind of moron would actually wear either of those in public? Bet their mothers don’t know.

    Whoops, sorry, mooncat. Warning added.

The “single mom” wearer looked young enough to still answer to Mama, but the “Mr. Right” guy moved out long ago. On second thought, he probably moved back in after he flunked that computer class at Bishop State.

Wow! I need to let this go. It’s just that, geez, this was supposed to be a FAMILY event. There was a children’s area with a bubble machine and everything. Even Ludacris promised to sanitize his act to PG-13. And here is this clown walking around in his F-word shirt. Is that even legal? Wouldn’t it be public obscenity? Oooh, maybe he got arrested. Or at least had to turn it inside out.

I live in Mobile and avoid Bay Fest like the plague. I’ve never been a fan of large groups of Rednecks in public – especially with access to beer and rebel flags. Ick. Not surprised at all.
