Six years ago today, George W. Bush was handed a memo entitled “Bin Laden Determined to Attack in US”. His response to the briefer? Reportedly, “All right. You’ve covered your ass now.” Thirty-six days later, the twin towers came down, and more that 3,000 American citizens died.
And where is bin Laden now? In the grave? Languishing in prison? Gee, let’s see what Bush has to say:
September 17, 2001: “I want justice,” Bush said. “And there’s an old poster out West… I recall, that said, ‘Wanted, Dead or Alive.’”
March 13, 2002: “So I don’t know where he is. You know, I just don’t spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you.”
Bush may have forgotten. We shouldn’t.

Amen, Kathy. Amen. For Bush, it has NEVER been about BinLaden. It’s always been about the oil and pushing his empire agenda. If anyone wants to see an interesting docu on the conservative agenda, there’s a website called shoes4industry.com. There’s a page which has the 3 part series from the BBC and it’s an eye-opener!
I have to admit that all of this is starting to make me lose confidence in President Bush.
Yes Roy but…is he still the guy you’d most like to have a beer with?
“You’ve covered your ass now.” Little anecdotes like these really make the LIHOP theories more credible, don’t they.
Cindi, all I see at that shoes website is stuff for sale.
Roy, * snerk *
Cindi, do you have a direct URL for the documentary?
Del, I’m not big on LIHOP. I’m just big on BIAAA (Bush is an arrogant asshole).
Kathy,
You just insulted arrogant assholes.
Roy,
I’m going to give him until September…after all everyone deserves at least 146 extra chances to prove they’re not completely incompetent. Of course, most of us don’t get those chances in areas involving the deaths of thousands of our country’s finest, bankrupting the nation financially and (from a political perspective) morally, destroying an entire country or possibly two (Iran is still on hold) and being such a great judge of character and talent that we long for the days of Ashcroft as Attorney General. After all, Laura told us no one hurts more than George. Give him time.
