Sen. George Voinovich (R-OH) today joined Sen. Richard Lugar in calling for a change in Iraq war policy and a drawdown of troops. No waiting for September, no pretense that the surge is a success. Neither is ready to insist on a timetable, but they’ve had it with Bush’s war. Now it’s time for the rest of the reasonable Republicans to join them.
Isn’t that an oxymoron, reasonable Republicans?

I think the ones who wanted to be reasonable have been cowed for years by fear of what the Rove political machine would do to them if they didn’t follow in lockstep. Maybe now they can come out of the shadows and join the reality-based community.
