This Week’s Whiny Ass Titty Baby Award Goes To…

…the Alabama Senate.  Is making a political point, on either side of the aisle, really more important than the $400,000 that taxpayers will have to cough up for a special session?

We’re now on Day 24 of the 30-day session.  Can’t you just get to work?  You know, so we’ll have a freakin’ budget?  And enabling legislation for localities so they can function? And maybe a little of that ethics reform that was such a campaign hot button?  And can we get our money back for all the time you’ve wasted in the regular session?

Over at Doc’s Political Parlor, Rep. Cam Ward says there’s an 80% chance of a special session.  Dan gets a good laugh out of the senators who give themselves a passing grade for this year’s session.  Can you say grade inflation?

I’d rather not have a budget at all, than one the Democrat majority rams through with only 30 minutes of one-sided debate. Just what are they trying to hide in those budgets and why are they afraid of open and honest debate?

Yeah, it kind of reminds me of the Republican Congress pre-November 2006.

I just like the title!!! Sounds like something I would have said!! Tell Bill I hope the crappy weather in Chicago lets up and he has a nice flight home!!

  5. Kathy says:

Yikes! I didn’t know there was bad weather in Chicago. He’s supposed to be home at five. Not that I’m counting the seconds or anything… ;)

What a great caption, title, heading, or whatever you bloggers call that thingy the goes at the top of your posts (oh, I overlooked flags). This one ought to get you really hit upon (that doesn’t mean what you may be thinking, Kathy) :)

Not that I want to see a special session, and I’m tempted to take Representative Ward up on his odds, but if we have one because of the senate stalling it may be a blessing in disguise and worth more than the half million or so it will cost. What I mean is that it should piss off more voters than they could collectively piss flies off of an outhouse toilet seat. Maybe, just maybe, some of them will become so incensed that it will shake them out of their apathy and they will actually start to DO SOMETHING constructive to change things on Goat Hill, starting with fighting to make Alabama the 25th Initiative and Referendum state.

    I have a one-track mind, don’t I?

Don, from your mouth to God’s ear re: change in Montgomery. And I’m glad you like the post title. I stole that phrase from another blog, but I can’t remember which one.
