More Fun with Tom Parker
Blues reader Roy passed along this picture of Alabama Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker hanging with some of his homeboys:
That’s Leonard Wilson, board member for the Council of Conservative Citizens, on the left. On the right is Mike Whorton, Alabama state leader for the League of the South (no, I’m not going to link to either organization — feel free to use the google). Parker is in the middle, holding the Confederate flags. Nice friends you have there, Tom.

You’re cracking me up. I’d forgotten about this crazy guy!

Too bad he’s still on the Supreme Court. Maybe you can run against him in the next election.

Why wave one flag when you can wave two!
Council of Conservative Citizens? eh? CCC…
No need to guess who they are in “league” with.

Mike Whorton, it turns out, is a real estate agent here in Wetumpka. I believe he may be the son of Don Whorton who is one of the Elmore County commissioners and at one time was chairman of the commission. Small world! I’ve never met either one, but I’ve observed the commissioner in action and wasn’t favorably impressed by him.
