Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD) is home from the hospital four months after suffering a brain hemmorhage. He’s been in rehab (not that kind of rehab) since February and continues to improve.
New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine is set to leave the hospital this afternoon, a bit over two weeks after a serious car accident. Jon, honey, next time wear your seatbelt!
And White House Press Secretary Tony Snow returns to work today five weeks after surgery that showed a recurrence of his cancer. He’ll start chemotherapy soon. I never thought I’d miss him, but a few weeks of Dana Perino’s speed-spinning were more than enough.
Here’s to good health for all of them.
I heard where Corzine apologized for the seat belt thing.
Maybe they can arrest him for not wearing his seat belt. I mean, that’s what the law is for, right? To haul people off in jail for making a mistake and putting themselves in danger. How dare they!
(Sorry, I’m glad he’s alright, but the Alabama legislature is considering a bill to make back seat drivers criminally liable for not wearing a seatbelt).
I wasn’t suggesting he be arrested, Dan. I think he’s suffered sufficiently for his mistake.
I know. I just wanted to scream about the fact that he could be arrested. See Alablawg’s post, Government and Sheep for an explanation.
Tim Johnson’s Chief of Staff and wife were kind enough to write me in response to my letter of encouragement when all this happened. Their letters detailed his progress, and I am pleased that he is coming along so well. It has yet to be deteremined whether he will run for reelection, but his recovery is good news.
Baudrillard, good for you for writing to them. And I’m glad to hear they responded so graciously. That’s cool!
