I still put my money on somebody got a bait of his pie hole and whacked him. I just can’t see a simple drunken fall to the pavement causing all of the injuries he seems to have.

I agree with Tricia…even out here in the boonies of Tallapoosa Co. a cop is always dispatched to 911 calls…I can’t imagine a lawyer being surprised by that.

Spina’s probably wishing the cops had stayed away, given that Montgomery apparently went all Mel Gibson on them.

Montgomery’s face looks like he tripped over a curb and was too drunk to catch himself, but he reportedly also had contusions on his chest and a cracked vertebra. Maybe he slid?

Also, sorry for the double-post, but am I the only one who thinks it’s weird for Spina to keep going on about getting a police response to the 911 call. IIRC, it’s been standard procedure for any 911 call (inside the city limits and I believe JeffCo as well) to include a cruiser for at least 10 years.

I believe that his close encounter was with the cobblestones on Cobb Lane. Especially if the news (TV) got his car’s location right.

It took me several minutes to recover enough to explain to my Dad why that story was so very, very funny.
