Ban On PAC-to-PAC Transfers Passes AL House

Rep. Jeff McLaughlin’s (D-Guntersville) proposed ban on PAC-to-PAC transfers passed with 103 yeas and 1 abstension in the Alabama House today.  It’s already passed the House six years in a row, but every time it’s died in the Senate.  This is somehow supposed to be all the Democrats’ fault, but I suspect there are plenty of Republicans as well who are perfectly happy to pay lip service to reform while continuing to hide their funding sources.

Rep. McLaughlin thinks the bill will pass the Senate this year — if it makes it to the floor for a vote.

    And by the way:

Rep. Micky Hammon sees his bills aimed at illegal immigration as a package and predicts that if the entire group becomes law, illegal immigrants will start leaving Alabama.

Jeff, I’m not sure which alternate dimension Rep. Hammon inhabits, but it sure isn’t the real world.
