What could they possibly plan to do? Surely not the draft. They’d hang him right there on the spot, from the highest rose bush. Probably big signing bonuses and other perks. To be paid for by YOUR GRANDCHILDREN.
My kids’ high school is about 50/50 black/white, but when the JrROTC kids drill on the field, there are maybe three white faces in a sea of black ones. It just makes my blood run cold. Boy, desegregating the military has sure served America’s minorities well, hasn’t it. Soon they’ll have the whole thing to themselves.

I was thinking the same thing, surely even HE isn’t stupid enough to kick off the draft. But, if that does happen, Canada sure does sound nice to me!!!

Great argument Del. Throwing the race card in the ring. I think that is from page 33 of the liberal military bashing playbook. Too bad for you but statisics don’t support your argument that minorities are suffering a higher casualty rate. Currently minorities comprise about 25-28 percent of the total casualties in OIF/OEF. Last time I checked national statistics had minorities composed of about 26-28% of the population. Plus what a great comment about the “military not serving the minorities well”. I love how you liberals “feel sorry” for minorities that join the military, rather than accept that joining is a choice and nobody forces people into it, regardless of race. Plus the military gives many minorities a lot of opportunities that the worthless liberal social programs do. From a social and economic standpoint the military has improved the lives of minorities more than any other social program in the U.S. (no I am not saying the military if a social reform program).
I’m surprised you didn’t astutely point out that females are being killed in higher percentages as well. That would be another great liberal attack against the military.

I didn’t argue that minorities are suffering a higher casualty rate. I wonder if anybody’s calculating the rate of being away from your family and your home for months on end with no release date in sight. Do you think that might be higher for minorities? No matter, because they’re being given wonderful opportunities that they themselves chose to take advantage of, not to mention improving their social and economic positions. And now white people’s kids can stay home, instead of having to move to Canada like last time! What a win/win.
Typical liberal position to use the feigned compassion for minorities and military families away from home in order to attack the other political party in hopes of advancing their own domestic agendas. Where was the concern about the months and days away from families as the military was spread to Kosovo, Bosnia, Somalia, etc? Oh that’s right, a Democrat was in charge then and the liberals didn’t care because they were at the controls.
You have no idea what my opinion was on US military “presence” and foreign policy in the past, and I resent your characterization of my concern for minorities and military families as feigned.
BL, you seem to have forgotten Afghanistan, where Bush had the support of almost every sentient being in the US. Unfortunately, Bush has definitely forgotten it, and the Taliban is making a major comeback while we waste our energy and the lives of many brave men and women in Iraq.
