Or since an awful lot of our immigrants, who are now subject to being rounded up, are Spanish-speakers, we can just use the same word the Argentinians and Chileans used when their government dragged people off to secret jails in the middle of the night. I've been listening lately to "Evita" and one of the songs about the military takeover of Argentina has the line "Instead of a government, we have a state."
