Thank you for the coverage of this incredible series of events. A report on it was linked to http://www.firedoglake.com and I found you through ThinkProgress. I’m sorry to see this happening to a candidate who sounds like a real asset to your area and agree with a previous commenter that this sounds more like Republican tactics than what we want to see from Democrats. It is receiving national coverage, it is on msnbc website and firedoglake is a site that helped significantly in the CT race. I’m a MA resident, but will be watching this with interest. Please post suggestions and addresses for Dems from out of state if you think we can help Ms. Todd. She is the winner, she earned the seat and this smacks of racism and underhanded, nasty politics.
Best wishes.

Thanks! It looks like Joe Turnham, the state party chair is very unhappy with this development, and I hope it will be overturned by the state executive committee on Saturday. I know Patricia would appreciate contributions of any size to the Victory Fund to help cover the cost of her legal challenge.
[...] Kathy continues her reporting on the race here, here, here, and here. Jeff’s coverage is here. Dan calls this “The stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.” Alabamian asks “What in the Hell is this?” The MSNBC story is entitled: “Dems use ignored rule to oust gay candidate.” The New York Times says “Issues of Race and Sex Stir Up Alabama Election.” The new Politics in Alabama says “Joe GReed has disgracefully engaged in racial politics and has created a huge fiasco that is embarrassing to the entire state and especially to the Democratic Party. . . Joe must go! Joe must go! Joe must go!” Explore posts in the same categories: Elections, Corrupt Politicians, Alabama Legislature [...]
