Nephew Zach and I are off to Montgomery to observe democracy at work — or at least politics. We’re going to the contest hearing for House District 54, and I’ll put up a post as soon as possible. We’ll try to get pictures, especially if fisticuffs are involved.
I understand the panel has been adjourned abruptly do to some financial shenanigans involving one of its members. One of the five party officials who will judge the contest has actually tried to pay for the panel, whose cost is supposed to be born by the challenger, Hendricks’ mother-in-law. What the hell is going on in Montgomery?
Good question. I wish I knew.
