[...] Really? How exactly does it call into question the judgment of those who gave the award? The article doesn’t quote from the paper, but states several times that it is “pro-homosexual”, whatever that means. Could it be that the paper was exceptionally well-written and persuasive in its arguments? And what is wrong with questioning the incredibly stupid practice of discharging Arab language specialists and others with incredibly important skills because of their sexual orientation?
If we get to the point that we have to start drafting people to fight these stupid wars, I predict a spike in the number of homosexual males. Perhaps those who wish to avoid military service in the future should try out for "Guys and Dolls" today.

On top of this, and I wish I could find the original article, the military discharge some 30 soldiers near the beginning of this aggression right out of translator school for being gay. I guess we didn't need them then and we don't need them now.

My partner put in 15 years of decorated, exemplary service. She's not in anymore. While they were in Iraq, her sergeant assumed she was gay and harrassed the crap out of her. Let's just say it made a horrible situation even worse. Her PTSD is part war and part harrassment.

You think maybe the military is compensating for something??????

I think it's time to write Senator Sessions and ask him to propose legislation to require the President to allow open homosexuals into the military.

OMG, I've been on the phone the whole morning with gay men involved in community theater. Right now I'm ready to sic anonymous emails on the whole pack of 'em. :)

I'm sorry, what was this about? Oh yes, dumping yet another gay Arabic language specialist. Maybe the Boy Scouts---we know all Scouts turn out to be heterosexual---could start offering an Arabic language badge, to encourage the development of straight translators for the future. Their services will still be needed years from now, since we all know this is a War Like No Other and will continue indefinitely.
