A Federal judge ruled today that Tom DeLay’s name will remain on the ballot as the Republican candidate for his former House seat. I’m sure we’ll hear some more bleating about “activist” judges, but DeLay and the Texas Republican Party got exactly what they deserved. DeLay ran in the primary even though he planned to step down so the state party could hand pick a candidate to run against Democrat Nick Lampson. DeLay took campaign contributions from supporters and misrepresented his intentions, and now he’s trying to say he no longer lives in Texas even though his wife remains in their Houston home. He couldn’t say whether he would be a resident of Texas or Virginia in November.
I guess I can’t guarantee I’ll be a resident of Alabama in November, but I can declare my intent to be.
Nick Lampson is a former House member who lost his seat in the Republican gerrymandering of 2004. I hope he kicks DeLay’s non-resident *ss in November.
I’ll say it for you….I hope he kicks his sorry, crooked A-S-S!
That’s the funniest thing I think I’ve ever seen. I would feel sympathetic if Delay didn’t run his ass off in the primary just so he could give his nomination to someone else.
