Can We Pretend We Don’t Know Him?

Check out Wheeler’s take on Jeff Sessions in the Washington Post. Mean and dumb make a bad combination, especially in a senator.

Ya gotta admit, it was surprising to see him take on ALFA like that.

And no, I can’t pretend I don’t know him, I live in Mobile for goodness’ sake.

The WaPo article seemed a little mean-spirited. Surely the Lincoln remark was spoken ironically. As much as I detest ol’ “Vote ‘Yes!’ for Torture” Jeff Sessions, I can’t really see him starting each day worshipping at a pathetic little Confederate shrine (sword, flag, yellowed daguerrotype of a famous general) and muttering imprecations about scalawags.

I agree; that was a bit over the top. Jeff has found plenty of modern-day reasons to be angry; he doesn’t have to look that far in the past. He seems to have a very up-to-date case of downtrodden white man syndrome.

Personally I thought the mean spirited was well deserved. Jeff is a pathetic little bastard who only got in the Senate because he had the good sense to run against Roger Bedford. He is an embarassment to the State and to the country.

Not that I have strong opinions or anything, right guys? :)

By the way, Kathy, did I ever mention to you that Jeff is Exhibit 1-B (behind Fob who is 1-A) of why I refuse to vote for the lesser of two unacceptable evils again? Now that I’m remembering that, I think I’m going to go drink a gallon of cyanide…….

My husband was actually asked in a phone poll what his choice would be if the gubernatorial candidates were James and Siegelman. He said he would move. Of course, we didn’t. :(

  6. Bill says:

    Del,

I’m proud of your husband. At least he can sleep at night.

  7. Del says:

Would you still be proud if you knew he voted for Siegelman? Cause I think he did.

    AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
