A Heads Up For My Reader(s)
If you have noticed a time lag in posting of your comments, worry not! I somehow attracted some really disgusting spammers to a post about storm names that I put up a couple of months ago. In order to avoid having to delete twenty or thirty comments a day that were advertising some truly horrendous websites, I have configured my options to hold comments for moderation if they contain any of a long list of words frequently associated with spam.
As you know if you’ve been reading here for a while, I have no problem with profanity properly applied, so feel free to use the words necessary to express your opinion. If your comment is held up, I’ll approve it ASAP. Thanks for visiting the Blues, and keep those comments coming!

The word *ss, combined with skin color, gender, size, age (illegal being a favorite description), what’s being inserted, etc. Also t*t, b**b, p*rn, and your general “adult content” type stuff. Just generally yucky. This is an adult site, but not that kind of adult site.

The spam comments were like this, right?
“Hey, wow, I totally agree. I love your website, too. Another site you might enjoy is this one here: http:/// (some URL about gambling, anal something, V1agr@, Rolex watches, etc.) .net) Cheers!”

I did get quite a few like that but even more that were not nearly that subtle.
