Lord! What Has Happend?
November 16th, 2008Wow, time flies when you are working your arse off!! Let me apologize for the EXTENSIVE break i apparently took these last SEVERAL months. So, since i abandoned you all, i shall recap the last few events that have had the Drag Queens rejoicing!
Pink put out an album; The Drag Queens rejoiced!
Beyonce’s new alubm comes out this Tuesday; The Drag Queens rejoiced!
Christina Aguilera released her greatest hits! along with two brand new tracks; The Drag Queens rejoiced!
Britney Spears cleaned up her act, looks fabulous, put out a single + music video, announced a tour for next year, and announced a new album being released the 2nd of December; The Drag Queens set up a celebration for the pop princess as they rejoiced!…. no really, come out to the Quest in Birmingham on the 5th where you can see Yours truely along with Genesis as we celebrate Britney’s comeback!
I would like to talk a little about Beyonce. I love her, she is VERY talented and her new CD is amazing. I was privaliged with a chance to hear clips of all the songs, and i was blown away by the range she has portrayed on this CD. Her voice is ON KEY! But! let me say, i think she has done tripped and bumped her head for two reasons. One: without even being asked, Beyonce announced that she would love to perform at President Obamas inauguration party. and Two: she also has talked to the producers of Wonder Woman, in hopes that she can be the lead role. Now, dont get me wrong, i love Beyonce and i love the idea of throwing a powerful black woman into a super hero lead….. but not Wonder Woman. I personally think they should fill Linda Carter up with enough botox to make her look like she did in the series and throw her into some live action! But alas, whatever they do, i shall pay the money to watch it in theaters.
….We have a black president…. Chelsea Handler talked about this so perfectly on her show “Chelsea Lately.” She basically said that we never have to see another movie where a black comedian becomes the president and throws a crazy ass party in the white house….. She is so poetic. Im thankful for change, i was beginning to think that a monkey could do a better job than what Bush did.
